The white and gold stucco bands with racemes, plant volutes, rosettes, ovals, dentils and putto\u2019s (chubby, winged angel also known as a cherub) reliefs adorning the apse are work of Domenichino. He led this pictorial work between 1624 and 1628.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">The rectangular fresco in the highest point of arch of the presbytery, represents the &#8220;Ecce Agnus Dei&#8221;, that is, s. John the Baptist who points to the future apostles Andrew and John the figure of Christ.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">At the center, above the window, &#8220;The vocation of the brothers Peter and Andrew\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">In the right corner scene, &#8220;S. Andrew led to martyrdom. &#8220;,<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">In the left scene corner: &#8220;The flagellation of s. Andrew&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">Within a double frame, supported by six stucco figures resting on fake shelves and forming an elongated lunette, &#8220;The glorification of s. Andrew&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">Among the windows of the apse, Domenichino painted six figures of virtue: Faith, Charity, Religion, Hope, Fortress, and Prayer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">In the stump of the windows , from where the putto\u2019s are stinging pears, alluding to the emblem of the Peretti family.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;The work of Domenico Zampieri, also known as Domenichino (Little Dominic).
